I've been waiting for a Uriah Heep cover, but since i'm gonna get that already (as they're gonna do Gypsy for a Uriah Heep Tribute), i'd like to hear 'em do "CRAZY HORSES" (The Osmonds) !!! YES, that would be GREAT too !!! _________________ ~~Life is like a rollercoaster, up & down we go...~~

Well, I know it may sound as a non-original thing...
The song I would like to see Metalium cover is 'Painkiller' by Judas Priest!
I really think this song would be wonderful with Henning voice on it!
And I guess the Metalium style fits perfectly in this song!
Or as Metalium likes to talk about those things concerning future, cosmic universe and so on they could cover a song from 'Somewhere in Time' by Iron Maiden!
The songs I would like to see Metalium cover from this album are either 'Caught Somewhere in Time' or 'The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner!'

Well, i would love to listen a cover from Judas Priest, or... something unusual... like, a cover from Jethru Tull or Lynyrd Skynyrd (it might be Sweet Home Alabama!)! _________________ Heavy Metal is the LAW!!!! http://www.metalianpage.esp.st in portuguese... |

Yes, Gustavo... :D
It's a very good choice but I think I would rather something more "metal", you know...?
Something like Manowar's "Battle Hymns" or "Blood Of My Enemies"!

Well Bruno,
Nancy is right...
Havn`t you heard waht Metalium did with Thank You for the Music from ABBA...
And if ya take a good listening on Run Like Hell, you`ll see that it has already kinda metal "groove".... _________________ So All Metalians Rule the World!!!

Yes, Gustavo :D
And I especially like what Metalium did with 'Thank You for the Music' because of the Henning's voice on it. :D
But I would still rather something with the heavy metal root since its origin!
Like Judas Priest's "Blood Red Skies" which I'm listening right now while I write this! :D
Rob Halford's screams on this song are amazing!
And I have read an interview with Henning and he says he would like to cover this song!

Yeah...
That would be nice, but something that also would be nice to Hennings voice would be some dramatic song like Manowar`s Heart of Steel... Since he has already done an amazing job in Metamorphosis, State of Triumph and others..... _________________ So All Metalians Rule the World!!!

You can say that Gustavo...
Hummm, you have chosen a dramatic song...
As Metalium likes to turn non-metal songs into METAL songs, and you think about dramatic songs, what do you think about Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody"??? :D
It has a kind of heavy metal groove, don't you think???
And I think Henning could sing exploring all his wide rage on this great song!

Bohemian Rhapsody would be nice too although Bruce Dickinson has already done that... If you want to take some old rock bands, we could think about Rolling Stone`s Sympathy for the Devil..... _________________ So All Metalians Rule the World!!!

Well, it's going to be a never-ending topic
There are a lot of good songs in the world to choose only one... :D
But, anyway, about non-metal songs I would like to see Henning singing the main song of "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring" soundtrack. :D
The song is called "May It Be" and it's sung and composed by Enya... :D
I know it may sound strange here but as Metalium has covered a Kansas song only with voice and piano they would be able to cover "May It Be" which has only voice and orchestra... :D
I love this song. Very beautiful and relaxing. :D
And I can say that it has been a kind of medice to me in moments that the medicines created by men wouldn't be able to cure me... :D

i think metalium should cover a helloween song, hennings voice seems really similiar to kai hansen's or something like that...
i would love to hear metalium performing, "i want out", "power" or something like that, but something mixed with metaliums heavier style :D
it would be nice... real nice... :D _________________ Hail metalians all over the world! |

So are they going to record any cover to put in the next album too??? :D
It would be nice. A lot of new Metalium songs but, even though, a cover! :D

I have just had another choice...
I was just wondering about Helloween's 'Keeper of the Seven Keys II'...
That album has one of my favourite ballads ever!
'WE GOT THE RIGHT!'
Michael Kiske KICKS ASS with his voice on this song...
And I think it would be great to see Henning showing his wide range on it...

GOOD FOR YOU !!!
Really, unless the song has some "historical" meaning like i said above, i've always felt a cover states something like "Hey, this cool song from "****" , WE can play too".....all very well for beginning bands without a repertory of their own, but for an established band, i find it rather demeaning to their own writing skills _________________ ~~Life is like a rollercoaster, up & down we go...~~ |

That's what I have been wondering mates...
All the Metalium albuns have covers...
So everybody is talking a lot about 'In League as One':
"Oh, man! The next album will have more songs than ever before!"
But I don't remember to see Lars or the other guys talking about the 'In League as One' upcoming cover...
So I wondered:
"Well, maybe this time they decided to have only their own songs on an album..."
And now I got the answer from Lars himself...
Thanks man!
But I have to confess that now, as it has come to it, somehow... I feel sad

'Ride the Sky' is with Kai Hansen...

I was thinking about something from Iron Maiden. Perhaps, they could cover Children of the Damned or Stranger in A Strange Land. I believe Maiden's style would play well to Metalium doing a cover. Since they do have a lot of the same similarities.
Great vocals, one of the best bass players in metal, great guitar riffs, great drumming, very good songwriting, and a unique blend of them. In a way Metalium is like a much heavier, much faster version of Iron Maiden. _________________ When darkness falls

My favourite cover ever made by Metalium is 'Thank You For the Music' of Abba...
The reason is not that I like the original version because I really don't uhaha
But the reason is that the Metalium version is great!
And the Henning's voice on it is so great and wonderful!
It sounds beautiful and better than ever!
But I really liked to see Metalium covering 'Painkiller' of Judas Priest!
I have to listening to Henning singing like that one day!
Or they could cover another Judas Priest song like 'Metal Gods'...
But this time Henning shouldn't sing like Halford.
He should sing like Ripper Owens sang it on the live album 'Metal Meltdown'
SCREAMING HARD!

Nancy...
I think I remember you saying that Metalium would take part in the upcoming Uriah Heep tribute...
But the list of bands and songs has come out and where is Metalium???
Angel Dust (Easy Livin'), Liege Lord (Too Scared To Run), Tad Morose (Rainbow Demon), Axel Rudi Pell (July Morning), Narnia (Sunrise), Freebase (Suicidal Man), Sacred Steel (Return To Fantasy), Blind Guardian (The Wizard), Gamma Ray (Look At Yourself), Nightingale (Stealin'), Lana Lane (Weep In Silence), Onward (Bird Of Prey) and Easy Livin' (Circle Of Hands).

But I have to confess that I don't like to see Metalium taking part in TONS of tributes...
It demands a lot of money to buy all the tributes to listen to our dear band's versions...
I imagine fans in countries that don't give a shit to heavy metal and they have to import a whole tribute only because Metalium plays one song...
I'm sure that these fans are proud to do it but, man, it's hard...
Here in Brazil only the Tribute to Helloween has been released and the other ones we have to import...
I'm sad because on the Tribute to Abba I can listen to the BEST cover ever played by Metalium in my opinion!
That is beautiful!
There are bands such Stratovarius that have released all the versions they had ever done on an album afterwards...
And as Lars said they are not going to put any covers on studio albuns anymore that 'COULD' be a good idea then...

Hey Nancy...
As 'A Return to Fantasy', the tribute to Uriah Heep, has been released, when are we supposed to find a sample of 'Gypsy' here just like happened with the other tributes which Metalium took part in?

I have just received my metal magazine Rock Brigade and there's a review on 'A Return to Fantasy', the tribute to Uriah Heep Metalium has taken part in with the song Gypsy...
I got surprised when I read that the Metalium version is a LIVE version of the song with the keyboarder Ken Hensley!
I thought Gypsy had been recorded in studio, just like the other covers they had recorded...

We're rather busy lately ya see, and that's what happens when you take on "other" things before what you're at is finished...then you forget about it... ...he's got his mind with the tour, the production for Seventh One, other stuff that concerns his label, interviews....and i'm working on all sites at the same time...so, it'll get added, but "when", is a different story |

Hummm... I see... I do...
That's why I don't like to work on two completely different things at the same time uhaha
Maybe time has come to email him remembering Gypsy...
If we leave him on his own, he will get on the tide and there's no way to know where he'll be taken to uhahaha

| yeah well...it's not a matter of "like"...it's just that it all HAS to be done at the same time...things that preferably were finished YESTERDAY .... so, we've got our hands full at the moment, and i dont think sending an email will change anything about that |

Edge of Thorns of Savatage would be perfect with Henning's voice...
And in the middle of the songs there's even a bass thing where Lars would be able to show us what he can really do!

That's logical. I think they've reached the stage where other bands should be covering them |

Ah hell I would love to hear them do, one of the following.
Pain of Salvation's Perfect Element
Dream Theater's Metropolis pt 1
Devin Townsend's Storm
King Crimson's 21st Century Skitszoid Man
Gentle Giant's Way of Life
Rockin Sydney's Don't Mess With My Toot Toot
Weird Al's Dare to Be Stupid
Vince Di'Cola's Autobot/Deception Battle(I could just hear Lars doing the bass lines for this...it would give me goosebumps)
Los Lonley Boys's Heaven
Shakira's Ciega, sordomuda
Jose Felciano's Feliz Navidad
Jay-Z's It's A Hard Knock Life
Busta Rhymes's Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See
Buddy Guy's Damn Right I Got the Blues
Sugar Blue's Another Man Done Gone
Dave Brubeck's Take 5
Miles Davis's Black Satin
Micheal Jackson's Bad
Janet Jackson's Nasty Boys
Blind Guardian's Lord of the Rings
OK that is my list...yes I know it is rediculous, but to be honest, I'd love to see anyone in the metal world redo any of these, especially the non metal examples LOL.

True that I am, but it makes for a good laugh and wonderful discussion. I'm still serious, I'd love to hear them do those, but I'm mostly interested in Janet Jackson's Nasty Boys. LOL

Hail Metalians...
its true we are not keen on doing MORE covers...
but the new Japanese Company asked us if we could do a Japan Bonus Track ... and what we would think of LOUDNESS "Rock n Roll Crazy Night" for this occasion on chapter 5...
so there might be "light at the end of the tunnel"
Akira Takasaki's band was the only Japanese band known in the 80th in Gemany and Michael and me have been big fans of Akiras wicked playing
Matthias likes him and baby Henning never heard about him ha,ha (ignorant, spoiled brat ... )
Lets see

Rock and Roll Crazy Nights is an amazing song. Therion did an amazing version of that song on their Crowning of Atlantis album. They had Ralph Scheppers singing the song, and it was one of the most amazing things I've heard.
